Saman Amini

Saman Amini was born in 1989 in Teheran, Iran. He came to The Netherlands at the age of twelve were he discovered the power of words, performance and story telling. In 2009 he was selected for the highly recommended theatre and Acting Bachelor at Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design. At this Academy Saman increased developing his skills as an actor and storyteller. During the Academy years he found love for theatre. He played Agamemnon, Achilles and Thersites in the play Troilus and Cressida, Wang in the play "The Good Woman of Setzuan" and a lot more. Before his graduation he already had the chance to star in a few television series such as Seinpost DenHaag, Flikken Maastricht and VanGodLos. He also had the lead in two short films The Sacred Defense (2013) and No Way Back (2011). Both films represented The Netherlands at the Academy Awards for Students of their year. The Sacred Defense even received a Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film in 2014 and won the Cilect Prize for best international student film in 2014.
