The vibrant, multi-talented actress starred as "Hannah," the sweet though slightly absentminded friend on the Netflix Emmy nominated comedy "Alexa & Katie," created by Heather Wordham. Leighton also lends her voice to Hinako, the lead role in the English dub of the Japanese animated film "Ride Your Wave," produced by Science Saru and directed by Masaaki Yuasa. Merit also voices "Frosta" on the Emmy nominated Netflix show "She-ra and The Princesses Of Power" from Dreamworks, created by multi-award-winning writer ND Stevenson. She is also known for voicing "Lucinda The Witch" on Disney's Emmy winning "Sofia The First" and the Stone Stackers and Tornado Warrior in "The Legends Of Runterra" from Riot Games.
Leighton is an award-winning filmmaker, winning many accolades on the festival circuit for the animated short "Planeman." As a professional singer, she has sung back-up for - Halsey on the platinum single "New Americana" and has two tracks on Disney's "Sofia The First Album" as Lucinda. Merit also performed the song for "Dishonored" with a 50-piece orchestra at the "SPIKE Video Game Awards." In her downtime, Merit enjoys dancing, K-pop, Anime, video games, and vintage toys. She loves Japanese culture and has studied Japanese for the last five years. Merit Leighton is an autistic actress with a special place in her heart for "The Jonathon Foundation." She serves as a celebrity ambassador to help support their work for kids with special needs.
