Seiji Hino

In early days, he studied acting at the United Performers' Studio under the top casting director/producer, Yoko Narahashi. Hino's first appearance in TV-Drama was "Love Chat" (1999) as a leading role. After that, he continued to develop his career rapidly and was cast as Oda Nobutada in the NHK Taiga-Drama series, "Toshiie to Matsu" (2002). The following year, he got the role to be on the popular TV series "Onsen e ikou" season 4 (2003) as a regular for 36 episodes. He also starred in other major films and TV-Dramas in Japan such as NHK's "Clouds Above The Hill" (2011), "Space Battleship Yamato" (2010), and "Odoru daisousasen" (2012). He is skilled in horseback riding and Japanese traditional dance. He has played many Samurai roles including "Unforgiven" (2013), NHK's "Gunshi-Kanbee" (2014) and NHK's "Sanada-maru" (2016). The film "Enter the Void" by Gaspar Noe was his international debut. He's also been national commercial films , Coca-Cola, Sony , Nissin and so on.

In 2199, five years after the Gamilons began an invasion of Earth, the planet has been ravaged by the aliens' bombs. The remnants of humanity have fled underground to escape the irradiated surface. One day, former pilot Susumu Kodai discovers a capsule sent from the planet Iscandar that tells of a device that can remove the radiation from the Earth's surface. The Earth Defense Force rebuilds the battleship Yamato with a new type of propulsion system to make the 148,000 light year trip to Iscandar in hopes of saving the Earth. Within one year, the radiation will drive the rest of humanity to extinction.
