Peter Pamela Rose
Upon Peter Pamela Rose's graduation from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, she was accepted to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. That year over a thousand candidates auditioned to be selected for a class of 24. Peter Pamela was the only American that year to be offered a place. In London, she studied under the Russian director Vasili Skorik, from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Moscow and a student of Stanislavski's protégé, Maria Knebble. In her third year at the Guildhall, she was cast as Jenny in Peter Chelsom's Funny Bones opposite Jerry Lewis and Oliver Platt.
Upon her Guildhall graduation, Peter Pamela was awarded the William and Eva Fox Foundation Grant. The grant was given to encourage graduating students to go on to further study. She chose to explore filmmaking and wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short film, The Day I Ran Into All My Ex-Boyfriends. The film received honors at such festivals as the Arizona Short Film Festival, The New York International Film and Video Festival and the Breckinridge Festival of Film, where the extended feature script won for Best Comedic Screenplay. The short film was also a hit at the Independent Feature Film Market, where The Sundance Channel purchased it. Sundance chose Peter's short along with four other films to be highlighted on The Shortest Day of the Year, a special program featuring the year's best short films. In addition to her work in Funny Bones, Peter Pamela has done hundreds of commercials and voice-overs as well as additional dialogue recording for over 50 major feature films. Ms. Rose was the voice double for Gwyneth Paltrow in The Royal Tenenbaums and A View from the Top; Tea Leoni in People I Know; Kirsten Dunst in Mona Lisa Smile and was the voice of Willow, Mr. Big's girlfriend, in Sex in the City on HBO. On screen, Peter Pamela had a recurring role on NBC's prime-time show Deadline, where she had the honor of working with such directors as Don Scardino, Bob Balaban and Robert Berlinger. In addition, she recurred on the soap opera, All My Children, guest starred on NBC's Law & Order, co-starred in numerous independent films, and played "Sybil" in the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's Private Lives, directed by Artistic Director, Ed Stern. Other stage work includes starring in the original play Aloha, Say the Pretty Girls by Naomi Iitzuka and directed by Jon Jory, which made its world premiere at the Humana Festival at The Actors Theater of Louisville.
Ms. Rose's current filmmaking project includes producing the feature version of her screenplay The Day I Ran Into All My Ex-Boyfriends. Since the short film appeared on The Sundance Channel, Peter Pamela wrote and directed another short film, The Negotiation starring Jere Burns and Sarah Rafferty.
