From Haughton, Louisiana, James Joshua Martin wanted to be an actor. He gained some fame for playing Barney the Dinosaur in a few episodes of Barney and Friends and a live tour called Barney's Big Surprise in 1997. He performed in comedy clubs where he made the Pillsbury Homeboy, a rapping parody of the Pillsbury Doughboy. He was picked by Funimation to voice Majin Buu, Kid Buu and Evil Buu for the English dubs of the Dragon Ball franchise. He also voiced Commander Red in Dragon Ball.
