Sean Patrick Thomas' extensive body of work includes the critically acclaimed features Chinonye Chukwu's "Till", Joel Coen's "The Tragedy of Macbeth" with Denzel Washington, and Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain" with Hugh Jackman. Among countless other memorable films such as the iconic "Cruel Intentions", additional credits include the hit ensemble franchise "Barbershop"; and the film for which he is perhaps best known: the male lead in Paramount's box office smash "Save The Last Dance", which garnered him the Young Hollywood Award for Standout Performance; and two MTV Movie Awards, for Breakthrough Male Performance and Best Kiss. Thomas' dozens of small screen accomplishments are no less impressive and versatile. He most recently wrapped a featured role in Hulu's "Reasonable Doubt", reuniting him with Kerry Washington who executive produced and directed on the series; a recurring role in the highly regarded "For All Mankind" on Apple+, and the eagerly anticipated "The Boys" spin-off titled "Gen V" on Amazon Prime. Other TV highlights include Kenny Leon's "A Raisin In the Sun" on ABC, which earned him a nomination from the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor in a TV Movie for his portrayal of George Murchison; CBS series "The District" which won him a MovieGuide Award; and a recurring role on "The Good Fight". A theatre trained actor, Thomas assumed the role of Joseph Asagai in the Tony-award winning revival of "A Raisin In the Sun" in the Broadway production featuring Denzel Washington. Off-Broadway, Thomas appeared twice with the NY Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park in "Much Ado About Nothing", and "Timon of Athens". Among regional credits are the title role in "Othello" at Seattle's Intiman Theatre, and James Baldwin's "The Amen Corner" at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre. Thomas received a BA from the University of Virginia, and an MFA from New York University.
