I started off my career by directing shorts, mostly for fun. When it later turned out that these films were loved in festivals worldwide, I decided to put all of my energy into features. The first film I made -- an indie comedy called "Sans Dessein", which I produced and directed -- ended up winning the coveted Audience Award for "Best Quebecois" film at the Fantasia International Film Festival. The overwhelmingly positive reaction to this small movie really cemented the fact that I had more than a knack for film-making. This resulted in me putting all of my energy and creativity into my next feature, "Radius", a sci-fi thriller that toured the globe and is now enjoying worldwide distribution. As of today, I'm awaiting financing for "Aperture", my next sci-fi project, all the while doing directorial work for companies such as Incendo and TVA -- bringing in nominations and awards from both the DGC and CSA.
In the end, whatever the film, whatever the genre, I bring my own vision -- start to finish. I'm always on board, giving 100%, both to the film itself and to the team I work with. I have a tight relationship with the technical side of film-making; I love framing, cool angles and camera movements. I also enjoy communicating my vision to actors; I let them experiment and push their characters further than what's on the page -- and they love me for that.
When I step on set, it's like second nature. I know where I'm going. I strive for the best. And I love it.
