Adam Cerro

Adam Cerro became interested in filmmaking at the early age of 10. He first began working as a camera operator for a local church where he recorded Sunday mass. In 2008 he graduated from Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts. While living in Rhode Island, Adam was cinematographer for a documentary on Zumix, a community art program located in Boston that teaches teenagers about music and art. Adam was then Director of Photography for the feature length comedy Mailbox Fairy (Directed by Panos Trikoulis). He then went onto directing several of his own short films, including The Offer (2011), which is an official selection of the 2012 AOF International Film Festival. It is based on a gambling addict who can't pay his debts to a mafia loan shark. The Offer is currently in the film festival circuit throughout the USA and Europe. Adam's appreciation and passion for filmmaking only led him to make one ultimate decision, to drive 3,000 miles cross- country to establish himself in the great city of Los Angeles. Since moving to LA, Adam has had the privilege of filming Jimi Lives, the Ultimate Jimi Hendrix tribute featuring his younger brother Leon Hendrix. Adam's Hollywood directorial debut was Alive (2012), a film based on Alex Jesse Olszewski, a struggling heroin addict who decides he is going to quit using drugs for good. The effects of withdrawal eventually take their toll on Alex, who becomes delusional and paranoid as he attempts to bury his deadly addiction. He is visited by his old friend Aaron Reven Lee Sandoval, who attempts to persuade Alex to continue with his withdrawal, in hopes of saving him from self-destruction. Alive is currently being played at film festivals in the USA, UK and Eastern Europe. With the ongoing success of Alive (2012), Adam and Reven Lee Sandoval decided to collaborate as a team and together produced Vampires Anonymous (2013), a dark comedy about thirst-free vampires. A human named John Jesse Olszewski, interrupts the meeting. John quickly makes it known he desperately wants to become one of them, a vampire. The aggravated vampires, unwilling to cooperate, try everything they can to remove John. Relentless, John uses every trick in the book to tempt the vampires into sucking his blood. Vampires Anonymous is currently being played at film festivals throughout the USA, UK and Eastern Europe. Adam immediately followed the success of Vampires Anonymous with the comedy It's Called Magic (2013). The story revolves around Jesse Jesse Olszewski, a school nerd who shares his life long dream with his buddies, to become a magician. Things quickly get out of hand when his friends realize just how magical Jesse's tricks really are. It's Called Magic is currently being played at film festivals throughout the USA, UK and Eastern Europe. Taking a break from comedy, Adam's latest movie The Bound is a psychological thriller about a detective Alexander Jakel, who meets with a psychiatrist Sonja Roden to discuss his work related troubles. Distraught over a recent case involving the murder of an 11 year old, the detective tells the psychiatrist about a vigilante who has been kidnapping and killing the gangsters who are related to the murder.
