Tony Taplin

Tony Taplin is an Actor from New Orleans, Louisiana and a graduate of the University of New Orleans (Film Arts, 2012). After the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. From there, he and his family returned to New Orleans to continue living. Growing up Tony was involved in Sport: Track & Field and Cross Country. Tony grew up singing in his family Church, and that then sparked an interest in Drama. As a Film Studies student he began work as a production assistant for a local news affiliate. However, unsatisfied with the job, Tony quit after two years to focus on his mark of becoming an Actor. After being a production assistant, Tony took an opportunity to be a part of a local production of "Hairspray" put on by the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. Then more opportunities on stage became available. His first starring role on stage was, Alec, in the play Spell #7, written by Ntozake Shange, produced by the Anthony Bean Community Theater.
