Born in Kurdistan, Shvan Aladdin moved to Sweden when he was 9 years old with his family. With a strong interest in acting, while in high school, he auditioned for the Swedish television series Andra Avenyn and was cast in a recurring role. This was followed by a role in the television series Riverside as a series regular. Then with his sight on US Cinema, Shvan moved to the US and joined the Stella Adler Academy of Acting. After graduating, he returned to Sweden and was cast in a recurring role in the Swedish television series Blue Eyes. Shvan played one of the lead roles in MGM's Stargate Origins: Catherine as the comedic role of Wasif.
