Charu Shankar is an actor, dancer and choreographer. An alumna of Modern School, Charu holds a Masters degree in English from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. While in college, she began her dance training at The Danceworx, and was part of the repertoire company from 2002 to 2005. Charu has played many significant roles in films, web series and short films, and remains actively involved in theatre, both performing and teaching. She is best known for her leading role as Mehrunissa in Epic Channels flagship show Siyaasat and has been widely praised for her portrayal of Indira Gandhi in Sony Livs award winning web series Rocket Boys. She enjoys reading, long walks, music and writes poetry. She lives in New Delhi.
