Sumire Ashina was born in New York, but moved to Japan at age 3. She started her career as a singer at 19 when her talent was discovered by a MS Entertainment. She debuted as a solo artist named BOMI in 2012. Her acting career began with director Isao Yukisada's film Aroused by Gymnopedies(2016) as a lead role.
