Randy Austin

Randy Austin

Randy Austin was born in Baton Rouge. As a child his parents relocated to the city of Port Allen. A small town directly across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge, where he still resides. He developed an interest in acting while studying White Crane Gung Fu. He found performing many gung fu demonstrations in front of live audiences to his liking. At the time he envisioned himself working in martial art action films. So, while confident in his martial art abilities, he knew that he needed to train himself in the craft of acting. He started taking whatever classes he could find in and around Baton Rouge, started buying every book he could find on the craft of acting, and started auditioning for theatre roles. During his time on stage he discovered that he truly enjoyed the character driven work and, while not opposed to the idea, finds himself less interested in being just a martial arts action actor. It was while working on stage that he developed a fairly keen ability to improv. After taking some time to work on his acting ability, he started submitting to agencies for representation. After landing an agent he began auditioning for film projects. He has since worked with some of his on screen favorites, Burt Reynolds, Andre Braugher, Billy Bob Thorton, Tommy Lee Jones, Mark Wahlburg, Ryan Reynolds and Micheal Rooker. He was also very fortunate to work with Director Tony Scott, DEJA VU, which led to what was one of his best all time favorite film experiences. He has recently worked with critically acclaimed Director Ramin Bahrani on the film 99 HOMES, starring Andrew Garfield, Michael Shannon and Laura Dern, which was great film experience. He looks forward to continuing his growth and work as an actor. He has also continued to train in and teach other styles of martial arts, Ryu Hen Do, Nihon Goshin Aikido, MMA, and Krav Maga.
