Seung-Hyun Choi

Choi Seung Hyun is most popularly known as one of the rappers in the Korean group Big Bang. Their group has been together for going on ten years, not counting side projects he has been a part of with other artists, one including an album with band-mate G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong). It wasn't until 2010 that he made his first attempt as an actor, portraying an assassin in the Korean drama Iris. Shortly thereafter he appeared in a suspense drama with band-mate Lee Seung Hyun (SeungRi) titled My 19. In June 2010, his most recent film, 71-Into the Gunfire, was released, earning him praise for his acting as student soldier Oh Jung-Bum.

Using real people and events based on the opening moves of the Battle of P'ohang-dong, the film exposes the personal and physical conflicts that these students faced when finding themselves on the last line of defense at P'ohang-dong Girl's Middle School against the NKPA's advancement, needing to hold out until back up from other Korean troops and the Allies arrived.
