Kaya McLean
Kaya McLean (KYE-ah mi-KLANE), SAG-AFTRA, is an emerging young actor, a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, based in Los Angeles. Often playing the quirky, warm-hearted tween, or spunky, hard-knocks kid, Kaya is known for her grounded, character-driven work on screen and for delivering a wide range of animated character and real life voices in the recording studio.
In addition to performing, Kaya enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, playing baseball and basketball, dancing, singing, gaming, taking photographs and reading anything she can get her hands on - especially comic books, graphic novels, and the Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson and Harry Potter series. She has a strong interest in Greek mythology and is part of her school's competitive Science Olympiad team. Kaya can blow amazing bubblegum bubbles and creates her own beatboxing tracks to lay into her original electronic beats.
Kaya did commercials and product modeling as a baby and toddler. Then at age 8, she began feeling bitten by the bug to act, so she started taking classes, receiving coaching and began acting in plays.
Kaya was nominated Best Supporting Actress in the 2020 Marcum Masque Awards for her portrayal of Lily in "The Giver," adapted from the Newberry Award-winning novel by Lois Lowry, on stage in Los Angeles. It was during this production that an agent from CESD saw Kaya perform and pursued her for representation. In a very short time, Kaya was training with top coaches, and earning credits in live action and animated film and television while having an amazingly fun time. Kaya McLean is certainly a young actor to watch!
