Anders Kanten grew up in a small island called Tjøme in Norway. With family in the movie industry, the business was appealing to him from a young age. He has worked behind the camera as an assistant for Norway's largest SFX Company Fiksern AS in the Norwegian film park, doing everything from sweeping the hallways at the studios to pyrotechnics. This was his first real meeting with the industry, and the professionalism and magic of the Norwegian film industry inspired him to keep working in entertainment. Due to his love of travel and exploration, Anders chose not to focus on a career in entertainment, but he has taken on different projects through the years. At one point he ran two entertainment companies, where Redline entertainment with office in Tønsberg was the biggest and most noteworthy. While he ran the company as CEO, he did pyrotechnics and entertainment jobs on several festivals, including the former Quart festival in Kristiandsand. During one of his adventures in south America he made pen pals with Norwegian author Mads Larsen and they became great friends. Mr. Kanten was later on asked to audition for the filmatization of Norway's best selling debut novel, "Pornopung" in 2003. He got the part of "Straffern", which translates to "the punisher" in English. After the audition, Straffern's role changed from being a relatively worry free comic relief in the book, to become a darker and more important character for the story in the filmatization of Pornopung. Anders is also known as a journalist for the Norwegian men's magazine ALFA, but he has also contributed to other Norwegian magazines. In the early years he has also worked as a child model. Of other enterprises, it is noteworthy to mention that he served a combat engineer / mine clearer for the ISAF Quick Reaction Force in Afghanistan. He was later recruited to the "130 luftving" as a Sargent in the Royal Norwegian air-force, where he finished his service in 2006.
