Praviin Karuna is an Indian Writer, Director, Actor based in London. He is the founder of Piccadilly Films. His short films have been acclaimed by international film festivals such as Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, Delhi Shorts International Film Festival, and China Women's Film Festival. Praviin Karuna was born and brought in Pune, India. From an early age, His father was a painter and growing up, he had an astute interest in painting and photography that form the base of his innovative style of film-making. He furthered enhanced his education with a bachelor's degree in applied arts and a diploma in graphic designing. Aside from his education, he was passionately involved in working with disadvantaged communities. He mentored children suffering from HIV and contributed to a significant change to the society around him. After completing his MA Degree in film from London, he started his own Production house "Piccadilly Films". With an aim to reflect social problems through the cinematic medium, his films portray the burning issues in our society today. He not only believes that cinema can showcase these ills but also provide concrete solutions. He started work on his independent directorial venture "Her". A film showcasing societal bondages faced by women. A powerful social commentary about today's society, the short film received critical appraise and acclaim. Praviin Karuna continued his work by showcasing social issues with directing a film around eye donation. In association with the Rotary Club, "Ab Main Bhi" takes an in-depth look into the advantages of eye donation. Recently he made a film on Casteism which is India's major problem! Praviin has continued to work on several other documentaries, short & feature film across different genres of film making.
