Sara Cooper
Sara has been performing and training for 25 years with over 20 screen and 50 professional stage credits to her name. Screen credits include: Five Bedrooms (Channel 10), Harrow (ABC), The Tailings (SBS), The Gloaming (STAN), Rosehaven (ABC), Kettering Incident (Foxtel/BBC), My Brother Jack (Channel 10), My Place - Series 2 (ABC2) Fanshaw and Crudnut - the telemovie, Pixel Pinkie (Channel 9), Buzz Bumble (Channel GO!), Dumbotz (Channel GO!), Arctic Blast and Noirhouse (ABC iview). Stage credits include the World Premiere of Kate Mulvany's The Mares, Terrapin's internationally award winning Explosion Therapy (Shanghai and Perth), My Sister's An Alien (Terrapin), Dream Masons (SAC), Sick and It's Partly about Love, Partly about Massacre (TTC), multiple garden shows for Big Monkey Inc., The Effect for Loud Mouth Theatre, and the World Premiere of Tom Holloway's Beyond the Neck. Sara has taught clowning, movement and improvisation for ATYP, Is Theatre Ltd and The Conservatory of Acting, Vic., and screen acting classes for advanced students at The Diana Greentree School of Drama, Williamstown, Victoria She has been employed as a director for Is Theatre Ltd, The Australian Script Centre and The Tasmanian Theatre Company, and has worked as an acting consultant on Terrapin's Helena and the Journey of the Hello, touring to the Sydney Opera House, July 2010. Sara has trained with renowned international teachers including Phillipe Gaulier (France), John Bolton, and top Hollywood acting coach, Ivana Chubbuck (L.A.). She was awarded Best Dramedy Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the 2015 Rome WebAwards for her portrayal of Evangeline Kensington in ABC's Noirhouse, and nominated for Best Actress at The 2015 Tasmanian Theatre Awards for her performance in Tasmanian Theatre Company's The Berry Man. A graduate of the John Bolton Theatre School in Melbourne, Sara is the founder and Director of Cooper Screen Academy, providing professional screen acting training for children to adults. She has been a proud MEAA member since 1999.
