Elodie Hara

Elodie Hara is an actor and martial arts expert. She was born to a French mother and an Italian father in a Sikh ashram in San Francisco, CA. She lived in Paris, Rome, and a commune in Copenhagen before moving with her mother to Los Angeles at the age of five. That year, she was introduced to martial arts by her stepfather, the prominent arranger/composer David Blumberg whose work with luminaries in the jazz and R&B worlds garnered multiple platinum records. Elodie began her studies in Wu Shu Kung Fu with James Wing Woo when she was five, and added Tai Chi Chuan to her practice at Mr. Woo's urging when she was 15. She became one of his most advanced students in both arts and remained under his continuous tutelage until his passing in 2014. Through their work together, Elodie developed a disciplined focus and a deep inner strength that serve as the foundation for everything she does. Elodie was an award-winning high school student at the French Lycee in Los Angeles while at the same time pursuing a modeling career. At 19, she began studying acting and graduated from the Joanne Baron D.W. Brown studio while also attending college. She has since honed her craft with a variety of other classes including cold reading, improv and auditioning techniques and most recently, through her studies at the Berg studios. Deriving pleasure from pursuing mastery in all of her areas of interest, Elodie brings a profound level of professionalism to her acting. She has performed in a variety of shorts and features, including Painkiller, in which she starred and served as executive producer; As Worlds Collide, which premiered at Cannes and will be distributed next summer; and When We Knew, a short film currently being submitted to the festivals. Elodie thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with creative people of vision and integrity who are committed to producing top quality films. She continues to develop as an actor and a martial artist and now teaches kung fu and tai chi. In addition to English, she is fluent in French, speaks some Italian, and has familiarity with German.
