Tim Taylor

Tim Taylor was born in Philadelphia, and grew up in Southern California. Taylor has been on stage since elementary school, regularly in talent shows, singing and acting skits, starring in The Mikado, and cast in "A Christmas Carol" as a town boy in the 4th grade. During college years Taylor studied Method with Eric Morris, as much as he could afford, and began acting in Film. By Taft Hartley in 1989, Taylor joined SAG when the Nishika Camera commercials he shot with Oedekirk added Vincent Price. In the 1990's Taylor was a "regular extra" on Pacific Station (starring John Hancock, Joel Murray). After Pacific Station was cancelled it was difficult for a while to find any work in LA. In 1993 Taylor moved north and was serendipitously cast as TOM in The Glass Menagerie, directed by Robert Gist at the Paradise Theater on the Ridge. While in North California, he also constructed a series of stage sets for the local community and high school theaters, and was the announcer for NPR's "A Classical Concert". Returning to Los Angeles in the early century Taylor registered with Central Casting as a "special" hire and had over 100 more featured extra parts on major TV shows and films, including ER, Chicago Hope, Diagnosis Murder, Charmed, and many others. Theatrical agents were quick to dismiss extra work and Taylor went for an MFA in Acting for Film when the career plateau'd again, graduating in 2012. In 2012 Taylor was cast as the villain "Dr. Dragmar" in the children's movie "Dognapped", and was principle in 3 other Magic Elevator flops. Taylor filmed a small role in "Out for Vengeance" in 2015, a film stuck in post production. In 2019 the documentary about his sculpture "Finding the Artifacts"in also went to post production. Taylor lives on a Pacific Island. He has an art and sound studio on the island (Jungle Gem, Inc), where he enjoys scuba diving and year-round outdoor physical activity in the clean, fresh air.
