Ray Jacildo

Ray Jacildo (He/Him) is an Asian-Canadian actor and theatre creator. Born in the Philippines, Ray is an avid traveler and backpacker and has performed in Toronto, New York, the UK, and Eastern Europe. Ray's work focuses on classical and political texts, giving voice to underrepresented intersections, and bridging cultural schisms. Ray is a graduate of the Acting Program at the National Theatre School of Canada, and the Queen's University Drama Program, and has studied under some of North America and Europe's top theatre practitioners: Brenda Bazinet, Chick Reid and Lisa Wolpe (Acting), Jackie Maxwell (Chekhov), Ian Watson and Guy Roberts (Shakespeare), Graeme Somerville and Deborah Hay (Shaw), David Latham (Mask), Jojo Rideout (Voice), John Stead (Stage Combat), and Belarus Free Theatre (Creation). Prior to the National Theatre School of Canada, Ray was the youngest member to sit on the Board of Directors of Theatre Ontario and was a founding member of their Youth Advisory Committee. In addition, Ray was the Executive Director of a non-profit organization that planned a solar powered rock-concert featuring David Suzuki, Sum 41 and the Barenaked Ladies, and installed millions of dollars worth of solar panels atop Toronto high schools.
