Thabiso Christopher
Thabiso is a young Filmmaker and former structural engineer who got his break into the film industry thanks to the NFVF Youth Filmmakers Project, crafting the award-winning short The Turning Son (2019), writing several produced feature films, and line-producing a major feature film. He has directed the feature films Prime (2023) and Offside (2023), solidifying his career as a Director and Screenwriter focused on Auteurship that meets the standard set by Global Cinema.
He passionately deals with themes of family, identity, and social division. His filmmaking style is founded in Realism that is interwoven with allegory and magic realism to entertain his audience, haunting them with the deeper cinematic meanings and moral entanglements. He is most influenced by the Filmmakers of New Mexican Cinema (Nuevo Cine Mexicano), French New Wave, British New Wave (post-2008), and New Hollywood movements of Cinema.
