He is from Tecoh, Yucatán, México and his native language is maya. His full name is Espiridión Acosta Canché. He was a local actor in his mayan community. Unfortunally in 2012 he passed away. In 2006 he took part on the Apocalypto film were he appears in a scene as the old man who tell stories.
