Anmol Sidhu is an accomplished Indian film director and screenwriter renowned for his remarkable contributions to the Punjabi film industry. His directorial debut, the Punjabi film 'Jaggi', received widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades. Notably, it was honoured with the esteemed 'Uma de Cunha Award' for Best Debut and the 'Audience Choice Award' at the Indian Film Festival Los Angeles in 2022. The film's success continued at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in the same year, where it was recognized as the 'Best Indie Film', solidifying its reputation as an exceptional independent production. At this festival, Anmol Sidhu was also nominated in the 'Best Director' category. Furthermore, 'Jaggi' made its presence felt at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in 2022, where it received a nomination in the Best Youth Film category. Additionally, the film was selected for screening and nomination in the Indian Cinema Now category at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in 2022. Anmol Sidhu was born in the remote village of Kauloke in the Bathinda district of Punjab, India. Growing up in this serene rural setting, he developed a deep appreciation for storytelling and the arts. He received his early education at a local Govt school, where he began to explore his passion for theatre and various art forms.
